Houston Ebony Opera Guild announces Lost in the Stars: An Evening of Musical
Theater, Opera, and Songs from the Great American Songbook The varied program will include works by Gershwin, Joplin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Weill, Webber, and others. Lost in the Stars will be presented at 5 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church-Meyerland, 4900 Jackwood at Endicott (next to Meyerland Plaza). The concert is a part of St. Thomas’ Moseley Memorial Music Series. Tickets may be purchased online at ste.church/heog or at the door. FREE parking available.

Regular adult: $20
Senior Adult (age 65+): $15

ARTISTS
The roster of outstanding singers for Lost in the Stars includes the following: Dorceal Duckens,Kenneth Gayle, Joan Hubert, Julie Jackson, Imani James, Jason Oby, Kaci Timmons, and Leon Turner. Tenor Jason Oby, artistic director of Houston Ebony Opera Guild is serving as both program director and one of the tenor soloists. Vicki seldon will serve as pianist.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
This Houston Ebony Opera Guild concert will include selections from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha, Kurt Weill’s Lost in The Stars and Street Scene, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, Mitch Leigh’s Man of La Mancha.
