Houston Ebony Opera Guild’s Summer Concert: An American Tapestry
Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Riverside United Methodist
A special highlight of the celebration of Riverside United Methodist Church’s 70th anniversary will be the Summer Concert of the Houston Ebony Opera Guild (HEOG) Chorus. Featuring Spirituals, Hymns and classical songs by several leading American composers, the concert will take place at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Riverside United Methodist Church (4920 Cullen Boulevard) at North MacGregor). CONCERT PROGRAM
Entitled “An American Musical Tapestry,” the program will feature soloists and the HEOG Chorus performing compositions and arrangements by a diverse group of American composers: Roland Carter, Hall Johnson, Alice Parker, Robert Shaw, John Work and others. Proceeds from this concert will support other summer programs for youth and adults.
